Bookish Review : Shiver

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Rating: 4 stars

When Grace was young she experienced an event that changed her life forever and it made her feel a passion for wolves. For years, she had watched the wolves in the woods behind her house, while she focused her attention to one yellow-eyed wolf that makes her feel chills.

Then we have Sam. He has lived two lives: during the winter he stays in the frozen woods with the protection of the pack while keeping silent company to a special girl; during the summer he enjoys a few precious months being human until the cold comes back.

Now, both teens meet. Grace recognized those yellow-eyes whose familiarity takes her breath away, and Sam must fight to stay human or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

This story will pull you in deep, wrapping you with the warmth of young love, the fear of losing someone important, and the importance of keeping your loved ones safe and keeping secrets.

I loved this novel very much. It did get a bit boring for me at certain times in which it got slow, but for overall it was great (I’m a picky reader xD). The level of romance used was simple and delicate, the light touch of mystery kept Sam’s secret interesting, and everything that happened in general will make you love Sam’s and Grace’s love story.
